The Spanish actress attended the 97th edition of the Oscars in a spectacular corseted Chanel design.
Penelope Cruz has attended an Oscar ceremony on 13 occasions , far exceeding the number of times attended by many of the great Hollywood actresses. Since the Madrid native made the leap to the United States in 2000 with Pedro Almodóvar and his film All About My Mother , the relationship between international cinema and the Spanish actress was love at first sight. It was then that a very young Penelope, dressed in a blue Ralph Lauren design, went up on stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to shout “Pedro!” as she handed the statuette to the director from La Mancha. Without a doubt, an iconic moment that may be repeated today, although certainly not with as much emotion, as she is one of the presenters of this 97th edition of the Oscars.
