Why is Marvel’s latest series just a pretext to introduce two new Avengers?

Marvel's two new Avengers?

Where did Wanda and Vision’s children really go?

The series “Agatha All Along“, currently airing on Disney+, finally gives us the answer.Warning, this article contains spoilers for the series Agatha All Along, in particular episode 6, and for the plot of Doctor Strange 2. Agatha All Along is a typical example of a series that gets better with time. While it focuses on the evil witch played by Kathryn Hahn , she increasingly takes a back seat to Teen, the young teenager played by Joe Locke .

Because Teen is not just any teenager. He houses the soul of Billy Maximoff, Wanda and Vision’s fictional son. He was created by the Scarlet Witch, thanks to her chaos magic, and could not exist outside of the “Hex” she created in WandaVision .

But, and without anyone knowing how yet, Billy has managed to reincarnate himself in a very living body. He now dreams of only one thing: finding his brother Tommy. And the latter could well end up at the end of the Road.

Doctor Strange 2’s plot could have fallen through

The problem with Billy is that he was wearing a Sigil, a spell that prevents him from revealing his own identity. So he wouldn’t have been able to go looking for his mother three years earlier. And most importantly, she wouldn’t have wreaked havoc on the multiverse in Doctor Strange 2 if she knew that one of her two children had managed to survive.

Because that’s the plot of Multiverse of Madness released in 2022 and which sees Stephen ( Benedict Cumberbatch ) face a “bad” version of Wanda. The latter wants to get her hands on American Chavez – a young girl who has the power to pass from one reality to another – to find Billy and Tommy.
The introduction of Teen in Agatha All Along and the idea of the Sigil allows Marvel to have a semblance of consistency… (which is not always the case between films and series).

Wiccan and Speed in the Young Avengers

While Agatha All Along allows us to rediscover the brilliant Kathryn Hahn on screen, the series tackles subjects that do not directly concern her (are Wanda and her children alive?). If we now have the answer, we now wonder what impact this will have on the sequel…

In the comics, Billy and Tommy are called Wiccan and Speed, respectively. The former has the same powers as his mother and the latter moves as fast as his uncle, Quiksilver. They are also part of the Young Avengers, a team of superheroes assembled to fight one of Kang’s variants.

For a few years now, Marvel has introduced both on television and in cinema, those who will make up the Young Avengers in the future (Mrs Marvel, Cassandra Lang, America Chavez, Kate Bishop, Ironheart…). Now it remains to be seen which actor has been chosen to play Tommy.
