Costumes are an important part of the MGP circus and play a central role on stage. Here’s what this year’s artists have to offer.
Amidst wind machines and pyrotechnics, nine hopeful artists will compete for victory in this year’s Melodi Grand Prix – and thus the opportunity to represent Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest in Switzerland in May. Five of this year’s artists have previously participated in the competition and are trying their luck again.
It is already clear that Norwegian Emmy will participate for Ireland with the song “Laika Party”.
The songs have already been released, but this is the first time we’ve seen the outfits they’ll be wearing on stage. Most of them were designed by NRK’s costume designers Susanne Hoftun and Kristine Barlow, while Bobbysocks’ stage outfits were designed by Cåre Jånni Enderud.

Outfit: – With Tone Damli’s stage outfit, we wanted to create an international superstar look, and we thought it would be fun to showcase Tone in a new way. Here, we used redesigned jeans that shine in a new outfit. We are very pleased with the result. The design was created based on Tone’s mood board with our own “costume design twist”, says costume designer at NRK, Susanne Hoftun.
Just before Saturday’s finale, it was announced that Damli would remove the word Tesla from his song.
Song: “Last Song”
Lyrics and melody: Sophie Tweed Simons, Kristoffer Tømmerbakke, Erik Smaaland and Yoshi Breen.
Bobbysocks
Outfit: Design and Sewing by Cåre Jånni Enderud. It was quickly decided that the outfit would be a homageof “Let it swing”, but reinforce more “Hanne and Bettan in 2025”. In other words, it will be black and pink sequins.
