Every year, Google releases its “Frightgeist,” a list of the most Googled Halloween costumes of the year. See which ones topped this year’s list!
Halloween is a great opportunity to go all out with both makeup and clothing. This is a night where you can step into other roles and explore new expressions. But deciding on a costume for the occasion isn’t always easy.
To give you inspiration, Google itself has created a list of the most searched Halloween costumes of the year: Google Trends Frightgeist . The list may also be a hint at what many people will be dressing up as, if you want to do something more “counter-trend”. The list is based on search history in the US, but has proven to be just as relevant here at home in previous years.

Often the list is characterized by popular cultural and current references, something we could also see that the stars in this country did during Lyko’s Halloween party .
Most popular: Characters from “Beetlejuice”
The film “Beetlejuice” was released in 1988, but in September of this year came the sequel, conveniently named “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”. Both films were directed by Tim Burton, who is also known for his love of what we can call the Halloween aesthetic. With the revival of the film universe, we are also seeing a resurgence of costumes inspired by the characters in the film, as we did with Barbie last year.
The most googled costumes are related to the character “Shrunken Head Bob.” He is a guy with a normal-sized body, who is usually dressed in a yellow suit, but as the name suggests – has a small and shrunken head.
Further down the list are the characters “Delores”, “Delia Deetz” and “Lydia Deetz”, all of whom can be seen on screen in “Beetlejuice”.
