Notorious con artist Anna Delvey made her mark at New York Fashion Week by opening Elena Velez’s show, after already attracting attention two days earlier in the front row at the Christian Cowan show.
Anna Delvey, New York’s most famous con artist, continues to attract attention. The inspiration for the Netflix series “Inventing Anna” has once again diverted attention, no longer for her scams, but for her presence on the New York Fashion Week catwalk. On February 9, she opened designer Elena Velez’s show, proudly sporting a dramatic look… and her now iconic electronic bracelet.
Under house arrest since her release from prison, Anna Delvey – real name Anna Sorokin – hasn’t let her legal restrictions stop her from shining in the spotlight. Transformed into a vampire, with blue eyebrows and crow’s feet lashes, she walked the catwalk in a green pencil skirt and light beige heels. But it was her imposing black ankle case that stole the show, almost appearing as a fashion accessory in a world where provocation is often an asset.
