Slouchy boots make a big impact on the Balmain catwalk

At Paris Fashion Week, Balmain unveiled silhouettes with generous volumes, including XXL boots that caught everyone’s attention.

Olivier Rousteing has unveiled his fall-winter 2025-2026 collection for Balmain , the house he has headed since 2011. True to the evolution announced during his last campaign with Laetitia Casta and Juergen Teller, he is injecting new artistic momentum. Maxi silhouettes, plays on proportions and materials: the Balmain woman is asserting herself with confidence. Among the key pieces of the upcoming season, slouchy boots stand out. These models with a supple and pleated upper take on an XXL look on the catwalk, available in black, burgundy and ivory. As thigh-high boots or ankle boots, they are paired with leggings, sweater dresses, playsuits or short, enveloping coats, infusing a casual and elegant charm.

Slouchy boots are making a comeback

Icons of the 2000s, slouchy boots have made a strong comeback this winter, driven by the boho-chic trend. And if the Balmain show is anything to go by, they’re set to make a name for themselves next winter. A bold alternative to classic Chelsea boots or riding boots , they add an effortless and elegant touch to any silhouette. Their volume and supple structure break up the classicism of looks, making them an easy piece to adopt on a daily basis. They pair just as well with simple outfits, like a knit dress or a pleated skirt paired with a sweater, as with more edgy silhouettes seen on the catwalks and on fashionistas. For example, worn with Bermuda shorts or skinny jeans and a shirt, they fit perfectly with the ” boot tuck ” trend, which consists of tucking your tight pants inside your boots for a guaranteed maximum effect.
