Back on the catwalk in Paris for the first time in twelve years.
Siri Tollerød walked the catwalk for Balmain during Paris Fashion Week. She is back on the catwalk abroad for the first time in twelve years.
She tells MinMote that it was really fun to be back.

– It’s a bit like learning to ride a bike, you don’t forget it.
Balmain contacted Team Models, Tollerød’s agency, and asked if she was available to go. She flew down on Tuesday after work, went straight to a fitting, and then it was time for the show on Wednesday.
“Everything actually happened on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. It goes pretty quickly once they decide,” she says.
Tollerød went to Milan at the age of 16 to try her luck as a model, and did not return to Norway until ten years later with Chanel, Dior and Vogue on her CV. She walked at most 75 fashion shows in three weeks, and worked at various fashion weeks for ten seasons in a row.
The supermodel and nurse says that it was a conscious choice to withdraw from the spotlight over twelve years ago.
– I got pretty tired of it all. I worked a lot, missed Norway, and friends and family. I wanted to study and do something else.
We already got a taste of the comeback earlier this fall when she walked the catwalk for the Norwegian brand Pearl Octopuss.y during Oslo Runway.
Tollerød’s everyday life is quite different now than it once was. She normally lives in Oslo and now works as a nurse.
– There are quite big contrasts. I went straight from the hospital to the catwalk in Paris.
To reminisce a little about the old days, she says that the highlight of her career must have been when she opened for Chanel’s Cruise show in London, just six months after she had moved to New York to pursue a career in modeling .
– It was really big, and I didn’t realize it until I walked out on the catwalk. Wow, this is happening. There was no one in front of me, it was just me.
