When talking about her latest musical creations during an interview with the Latin American edition of GQ magazine, Shakira mentioned her sons Milan and Sasha, with whom she recorded the song Acróstico, released in May 2023. “I am a mother absolutely dedicated to her children,” the singer confessed about her 11 and 9-year-old children.
The Te Felicitó singer said that the connection with her children is such that she has managed to interpret when they feel bad. “I enter a room, I see them and I can read from their body language if they are sad, happy or bitter. If they did well at school. Sometimes I have a feeling that something is not right, I call them and it turns out that something was not right,” she explained. “I have such a connection with them that it dominates my life absolutely and everything I do,” she said.
The Barranquilla native confessed that her children are a constant in her thoughts. “Now we are talking and I am thinking about them. They can’t get out of my head for a moment. This consumes a lot of energy…”, she admitted. “ The same passion that I dedicate to my career, or more, I dedicate to my children , to their integrity, to their development,” she expressed.
Shakira acknowledged that, in her role as a mother, she has experienced grief for what ails her children. “I am a long-suffering mother, I suffer for absolutely everything that happens to them. I take the task of being a mother very seriously: trying to have two more decent people in this world, and hopefully they will be my children ,” she said hopefully.
