Queen Margrethe was not among the guests when her nephew, Nikolaos de Grece, was married on Friday evening.

Friday evening was all about love when Nikolaos de Grece said yes to his beloved Chrysi at a beautiful winter wedding in Athens.Among the guests were several of the former prince’s Danish family members.His aunt, Princess Benedikte, had gone to the Greek capital with her daughter, Princess Alexandra, as well as her son, Prince Gustav, and daughter-in-law, Princess Carina.

On Friday morning, the Danish royal family confirmed that Crown Prince Christian took over as regent – a position he will hold until Sunday, February 16.This led many to speculate whether King Frederik, Queen Mary and Queen Margrethe were among the guests at the big love party.

However, on Friday evening it became clear that none of the three royal family members were among the guests.This could indicate that the reason for King Frederik and Queen Mary’s absence is their annual winter holiday abroad .
