Meghan Markle brings back the iconic Northwestern University sweatshirt that Lady Di wore 30 years ago

Meghan Markle has shared a series of videos on Instagram in which she wears the Northwestern University sweatshirt that Diana, Princess of Wales, made popular in 1996. It so happens that Lady Di received it as a gift in 1995, when she visited this university in Illinois, and Meghan Markle began her studies there just three years later.

Since Meghan Markle opened her new Instagram account , the Duchess of Sussex has not hesitated to share some of her most personal stories, such as the particular way in which she helped a young woman who had lost her home in the Los Angeles fires. This weekend, Meghan has revealed some of her favorite plans in her free time, from taking care of gardening tasks to sunbathing in her spacious house or preparing an aperitif with freshly squeezed lemons.

And in one of the videos that appears, they have surprised us wearing the same Northwestern sweatshirt that Lady Di elevated to the status of iconic three decades ago. It is a purple sweatshirt with the letters of Northwestern University in white that Diana of Wales often wore during 1996 , a year before her death.

At the time, it was common to see Lady Di leaving the gym in comfortable, sporty clothes , and this garment became one of her favorites. The princess received the sweatshirt as a gift a year earlier, when she visited Northwestern University in Illinois to raise funds for the Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center. Coincidentally, Meghan Markle studied Theater and International Studies at this university, graduating in 2003.
