Tonight is the night that French cinema will be in the spotlight. The 49th César Awards ceremony will be held in Paris on Friday evening, February 23, and, as every year, all the protagonists of the French seventh art will be there: from Marion Cotillard to Sandrine Kiberlain , Marina Foïs and Vincent Cassel, a great crowd is expected on the red carpet of the French event of the year. Chaired for this 2025 edition by the icon Catherine Deneuve – who had nevertheless shunned the ceremony for several years – who will this time be accompanied by thirteen masters and mistresses of ceremonies, including Jean-Pascal Zadi, Emmanuelle Béart, Cécile de France, William Lebghil, Vincent Macaigne, Pio Marmaï, Raphaël Quenard, Ludivine Sagnier and Justine Triet, the evening promises its share of surprises and glitter. To stage the 50th César ceremony, director Cédric Klapisch was chosen by the organizers and the Academy for “his artistic sensitivity and his unique vision.” And while the evening promises to be grandiose, we can also expect a real festival of sophisticated dresses and very studied looks.
