Canadian Weber Price Quarter-Century All-Star Teams

(Montreal) Goaltender Carey Price and defenseman Shea Weber headline the Montreal Canadiens‘ first quarter-century all-star team, unveiled Sunday by the National Hockey League (NHL).

Forwards Saku Koivu, Alex Kovalev and Tomas Plekanec, along with defenseman Andrei Markov, complete the Habs’ first all-star team in the last 25 years.

Current captain Nick Suzuki is the center of the second all-star team, flanked by Brendan Gallagher and Max Pacioretty. Sheldon Souray and PK Subban are the backs, while Jose Theodore is the goaltender.

Price won the Hart, Vezina and Ted Lindsay Trophies in the 2015-16 season. He won 361 of his 712 regular-season games with the Habs.

Weber, who played in 275 games with the Canadiens, is the only Hall of Famer among the 12 players selected.

Plekanec has been the team’s leading scorer since the turn of the century with 606 points in 984 games.

Members of the media, former NHL players and members of the teams’ hockey departments contributed to the selection of these teams.
