Squid Game: This Star Was So Bad At This Game That Production Had To Cheat For Her Key Scene

In season 2 of Squid Game, the challenges follow one another and are not alike. And some stars of the series have revealed themselves to be particularly in difficult during filming…

Particularly eagerly awaited by fans, the scenes of events where the Squid Game players compete against each other remain the heart of the South Korean series. A success that does not seem to be drying up: if the series has just been dethroned from the first place in the top of the most watched series on Netflix by the western At the Dawn of America, it has nonetheless shattered several records.

The scene of the famous pentathlon, where the players are divided into teams of six and must take part in five events inspired by their childhood games, has particularly caused a reaction on social networks. The actors themselves have admitted to having had a difficult time during filming.

Squid Game Season 2: Actress Jo Yu-ri (Jun-hee, player number 222) was terrible at the game of Ddakji

In the pentathlon sequence, among Gi-hun’s team, we can find Jun-hee, the young pregnant player. Played by actress Jo Yu-ri, she must perform the first game, Ddakji, which consists of turning over a colored card by throwing another on top. In a video on social networks, the actors indulged in their tests in real life and Jo Yu-ri, during filming, struggled to succeed:

It makes me nervous. They told me to blow a little air into it but, honestly, I still couldn’t do it, even with the advice. So, the director told me that they would use special effects [to fake success, editor’s note].” In the promotional video, the actress ends up succeeding!

Squid Game : Another actor was dubbed for his event

But Jo Yu-ri wasn’t the only one who messed up during filming! For the Gong-gi challenge, where you have to catch small colored stones in a specific way, Kang Ha-neul, who plays Dae-ho in the series, couldn’t do everything himself. He couldn’t catch all the stones on the back of his hand at the end. So the director hired a “Gong-gi master” who played the game for him.
