
Influencer Helene Myhre’s Skappel sweater suddenly appeared on Shein. The company says it has launched an internal investigation.
– This is really sad, says influencer Helene Myhre in a new video to her almost one million followers on Instagram.
She has just opened a package with a Shein copy of the sweater she designed in collaboration with the knitting brand Skappel.
“It’s similar, but it’s not the same sweater,” Myhre says about the copy, which, unlike the wool knit sweater, is made of 100 percent polyester.

Myhre and Skappel first noticed that a very similar sweater was for sale at Primark in Germany. Then it became clear that Shein had a copy for sale, and Shein even used the photos of Myhre in the original sweater in the online store. Here’s what it looked like then:

MinMote has asked Shein for an answer, and on Friday afternoon an email came in.
– We removed the object as soon as we became aware of this, and we have now initiated an internal investigation, the email states, which is signed by Martin Reidy on behalf of Shein.
The sweater is no longer available on Shein’s pages on Friday.
