While Rebecca Hall ( A Promise ) , Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle are back in the shoes of their respective characters, Millie Bobby Brown already present in the cast of Godzilla 2 – King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs Kong is missing and has not reprised her role as Madison Russell in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The reason? Director Adam Wingard gives it to our British colleagues at Digital Spy : ” Madison didn’t quite fit the story I wanted to tell. I felt like we wrapped up the King of the Monsters arc in the last movie (…). We really wanted to reduce the number of characters in the movie in order to have a more intimate journey with them. That’s why our group is relatively small, both on the monster side and the human side, so that we have more time to be with them. “

The MonsterVerse Expands with Big Beasts

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the fifth film in the MonsterVerse, a franchise launched by Warner and in collaboration with Toho, the famous Japanese studio that produced the very first Godzilla in 1954. It thus brings together productions centered around the two most iconic creatures of the seventh art.
