Here are the first images, taken between Liverpool and Birmingham.

Netflix announced it with a first official photo of Cillian Murphy and Steven Knight : the film Peaky Blinders is currently being filmed . Launched at the very end of September, filming has since been taking place between Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds, in England.

Here is a best-of of the first photos taken on the set:

For now, no trace of the newcomers played by Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson or Tim Roth, nor of Tom Hardy, who nevertheless said that he would love to return as Alfie . On the other hand, we do have a first glimpse of Cillian Murphy in the role of the famous gangster Tommy Shelby, in costume and on horseback in the streets of his neighborhood. An echo of previous scenes in the series, the very first one following for example a lone horse in the middle of the city. Here, Tommy’s clothes are covered in mud, and his face bloody, which does not bode well for the protagonist.

In other shots, we see young members of the Peaky Blinders , with their famous cap hiding a sharp razor blade, and we can also recognize the comedian Stephen Graham , who also appeared throughout the show as Hayden Stagg. In the last season, he shared some key scenes with Cillian Murphy on the docks, but their – illegal – business was not easy.

The English series about the Birmingham gang after the First World War ended in 2022 after six seasons.

The Peaky Blinders movie will be a direct continuation of this story, directed by Tom Harper, who had already directed several episodes of the series, from a script by Steven Knight. The creator can also be seen in some photos from the shoot, chatting with his actors. He confirmed this year that this feature would be perfectly in the spirit of the episodes, and would have a substantial budget to wrap up his story as best as possible.

This project does not yet have a release date, but it should logically be offered directly in streaming, on Netflix.
