This spring, ballerinas are making a comeback, and they are now available in a lace-up, ultra-stylish version. Good news for fans of the “balletcore” trend.
Too flat, too ugly, too uncomfortable… Often criticized for its slightly boring bourgeois schoolgirl look, the ballet flat ignores its detractors by coming in a thousand and one ways. If this winter we adopted it with high or glittery socks (it was the unexpected combo on the feet of stars like Katie Holmes and Kaia Gerber), this flat shoe is reinventing itself this spring with a host of laces, ribbons and bows.
Flat shoes in multiple variations
This year, the “flat shoe” very popular with French women is appearing bolder and even more feminine, especially in the fashion shows of luxury houses. For the spring-summer 2025 season, the Italian label Ferragamo is banking on khaki and powder pink pointed-toe shoes with long ribbons, the Belgian designer Ann Demeulemeester is offering it in a purple velvet version and in a slightly destroyed off-white, while the Chloé girl is adding grigris and embroidered charms on the front to bring a bohemian-chic touch.
Exit the old school style. Fashion brands are rethinking with originality the silhouette of the timeless laced ballerina inspired by the iconic dance shoes with their pink ribbon to tie around the ankle.

The Parisian house Repetto imagines a resolutely romantic version in tulle enhanced with gold and black sequins, the Scandinavian Ganni doubles the bet with eyelets for a rock style, the Londoner Miista sneakers style with a sportswear look or even Dr. Martens with its emblematic platform sole.
