From Cocorico to Daron on TF1: Didier Bourdon’s crazy year 2024

From Cocorico to Daron on TF1: Didier Bourdon's crazy year 2024

The former troublemaker of Les Inconnus has made a series of films in theaters, popular successes and is arriving tonight on TF1 for the first time at the helm of a TV series.

The last time he leaped onto the small screen, it was for the special TV movie Tous Inconnus, a horrible reunion of the trio for an evening to forget, trashed by the press and booed by the public. It was an evening in November 2022 and Didier Bourdon’s career seemed to be heading quietly towards its twilight. Alternating between flops at the cinema (like 38°5 quai des Orfèvres limited to 80,000 admissions) and anecdotal appearances (in Alibi.com 2 or Inestimable ), it was hard to imagine that, two years later, Didier Bourdon would be unavoidable because it was quite impossible to miss Didier Bourdon this year. A prosperous year 2024 marked by 5 films at the cinema and 1 TV series.

The millions of Chasse garde and Cocorico

The year started particularly well for Didier Bourdon , since one after the other, the former Inconnu found himself in the cast of two choral comedies that suddenly became very popular: 2 million admissions for the country farce with Hakim Jemili and Camille Lou , followed by 2 million admissions for his face-off with Christian Clavier, on origins and roots. Two hits in the top 10 of the biggest successes of the year in France.

With the creator of Fiasco

A few months later, at the end of the summer, Didier Bourdon was back in the cast of a Breton comedy called À l’ancienne , alongside Gérard Darmon. Directed by Hervé Mimran, the tender social film, about two isolated sixty-somethings, was not a success (150,000 admissions) but allowed Didier Bourdon to work with Igor Gotesman, a very popular screenwriter of the new French comedy, behind the hit series Fiasco and Family Business on Netflix.

For the first time in the Daron series

After four decades on stage and in the cinema, Didier Bourdon is this time turning into a TV series actor. He who has already played in a number of TV films is for the first time the leader of a series with Le Daron , which begins this Monday evening on TF1. A legal series also with Mélanie Bernier , in which he will play a lawyer. A possible long-term role if the ratings are there.

Football agent in Four Zeros

Tonight on TF1, Wednesday at the cinema. Twenty years after the success of Trois Zéros , Fabien Onteniente returns to explore the world of football. And if Gérard Lanvin and Isabelle Nanty are still there, this time he is counting on Didier Bourdon to carry the comedy (they had already worked together in the TV movie 100% bio ). A new potential success for the ex-Inconnu, knowing that the first part had sold 1.2 million admissions.

In the end-of-year Christmas comedy

For his 5th film of 2024 in theaters, Didier Bourdon will try to make the family success of the end-of-year holidays. He will be married to Noémie Lvovsky in Un Noël en famille , which will be released on December 18. This time, he will play a father like any other, a head of the family completely overwhelmed by his children and the modernity of the world who reject the traditions of yesteryear…

And in 2025?

The Didier Bourdon frenzy is unlikely to stop. The actor has already finished shooting 2 films, which will be released next year: he will play a supporting role in Natacha , an adaptation by Noémie Saglio of the comic strip Natacha hôtesse de l’air (with Camille Lou , Fabrice Luchini and Isabelle Adjani). Release scheduled for April 2. Didier Bourdon will then be opposite Kev Adams in Le Jour G , a historical adventure set during the D-Day and Liberation period. Release scheduled for October 2025.
