In “Celebrity Big Brother” the celebrity participants live together in a very small space and are monitored by cameras 24 hours a day. In the first season, all the candidates lived together in one large area. From seasons 2-9, the celebrities were divided into two areas. In addition to a luxurious area where the residents lack nothing, there is an area where the “Celebrity Big Brother” participants live in poor conditions . The distribution of the residents can be determined by voting, duels or direction. In the 10th season, there were three areas for the first time and 15 residents instead of the usual 12.

At the end, the viewers decide who should leave the “Celebrity Big Brother” house via a telephone or app vote. But before that, the candidates usually nominate each other. Whoever gets the most votes from their fellow housemates ends up on the hit list. In some cases, the residents can protect themselves from the exit by completing a challenge. The last four participants go to the final of “Celebrity Big Brother”. Whoever manages to impress the viewers the most over the entire three weeks and gets the most votes in the final not only takes home the title, but also 100,000 euros .

Moderation and Studio

“Celebrity Big Brother” is hosted live every evening . In the studio, the hosts welcome the audience and residents to live challenges every day. Oliver Pocher and Cindy from Marzahn hosted the first season, but were replaced by Jochen Schropp in the second season . In the fifth season, Jochen Bendel joined him. Since the sixth season, Jochen Schropp and Marlene Lufen have hosted the evening.

In the live challenges in the studio, residents from different areas compete against each other. This often involves moving into the better area, being nominated or getting other extras.
